An aphelion (plural aphelia) is the point in an orbit when a planet or comet is farthest from the sun.

Since 2012, Aphelia has reflected that distance: a voice constantly in motion, always drifting from their origin and evolving into something new. Never tied to a single identity for long, their contralto voice moves between soft, controlled tones and bright, unstable intensity. Aphelia has always been built around the idea of pushing vocal synthesis as far as possible, with voicebanks that emphasize range, variation, and expressive flexibility.
